Rio Grande/Río Bravo Binational River Symposium
In 2022, the U.S. and Mexican sections of the International Boundary and Water Commission (IBWC) approached Texas Water Foundation to create and host a biennial event for stakeholders of the Rio Grande/Río Bravo. The goal was to grow trust and collaboration at the binational level. The first Rio Grande/Río Bravo Symposium took place in 2023 and focused on the management of the 1944 treaty. In 2025, the symposium focused on the state of the river from a science and policy lens.
