Developing and Amplifying Water Leaders throughout the Texas Water Ecosystem
There is no substitute for strong, informed leadership in the water sector. Educated leaders make better management decisions, which directly impact everyday Texans. Equally important, informed leaders act as advocates for meaningful change at the policy level, bringing their on-the-ground expertise and experience to decision makers outside of the water sector.
TWF proudly supports and amplifies informed leaders at the intersection of policy and workforce. We do this through collaborative research studies identifying key challenges and potential solutions for water workforce issues; educational resources and briefings for leaders who are engaged in water-related decisions in and out of the water sector; and the Rainmaker of the Year Award, highlighting a leader who makes a significant impact on the state of Texas water.
Nowhere is our impact more evident than through our flagship Texas Water Leaders Program. Now in its sixth year, this innovative, intensive program continues to extend its influence across the water ecosystem as our graduates build both water policy knowledge and professional confidence to go back into their profession and transform how Texas water is managed. As our network of Texas Water Leaders Alumni grows, so does our commitment to these outstanding water champions, during and after their time in the program.
